It will all be taught at a comfortable pace, with plenty of chances to ask questions and time to put what you have learned into practice. LOVE YOUR CAMERA – Intermediate level Photography Workshop

You have a decent understanding of using your camera in manual setting (you may have attended my beginners class) and feel pretty confident in taking photos and getting consistent results. Now what? The next step is to develop your skills and get a greater understanding of creating images with intent (taking photos and achieving the results you want, rather than being lucky!)

During this intermediate level workshop you will learn the effect different lenses have on the image, understand in more depth about composition and using this to create eye-catching photos. You will gain greater understanding of using natural light and how to work with it to get beautiful results whatever the weather. This is also the time to start learning about editing, so shooting in RAW format and looking at how to edit and process your images.

During the workshop we will cover a number of areas including:

• Shooting in RAW format, how to download, what software to use (Lightroom & Photoshop), simple and effective editing and exporting your images for print and web

• Working with natural light to create the images you want to create. Tips and tricks to take your photos to the next level.

• Understanding composition. The rules to know and when to break them.

• The effect different lenses have on the image you are taking. From telephoto to wide angle and how it affects the image.

• An introduction to using other forms of lighting and how to use them.

For this workshop, there is no need for you to have any equipment other than your camera and lens(es). All practical aspects will be undertaken using my equipment, which you will have the chance to use. If you wish to purchase anything for your own kit prior to the workshop I am happy to advise.

As with the beginners class, the workshop will all be taught at an easy pace, with plenty of chances to ask questions and time to put what you have learned into practice. No questions are too silly, so don’t feel you can’t ask during the workshop. If you aren’t already a member, you will also get access to a private Facebook page, where you can get continued support, advice and tips to develop your photography skills.

There a lot to cover in this workshop so it will be a full day, with a break for lunch in the middle.

The next intermediate workshop is Sunday 5th March, running from 10am to 5pm, with a break for tea/coffee and snacks.

The workshop is  held at the Cul-de-Sac cafe in West Norwood, London SE27.
